HUNDREDS DASH AND SPLASH TO RAISE FUNDS FOR CHARITY 1st July 2017

Fundraisers dashed along the sands and around, through or over 43 groynes between Shanklin and Yaverland this morning (Saturday) as part of Dash and Splash 2017.

The event began at the old Shanklin Pier at 11:10 with participants rapidly making their way 5km across The Bay towards Sandown and the finish line at Yaverland. Those taking part faced splashing through the cold waters to make it around 13 groynes.

This year Dash and Splash is raising funds for Challenge & Adventure, which helps disadvantaged and challenging young people on the Isle of Wight.

The fun run was started by Mayor of Shanklin Jon Gilbey and Karen Eales of Challenge & Adventure.
